Someone is going to want their money back after buying Tom Brady’s last touchdown ball. Brady shocked the world on Sunday evening when he announced that he will be coming out of retirement for a 23rd season.
That 23rd season will be spent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as he thinks there’s still some unfinished business to attend to. One fan paid $518,628 on Saturday night for that last touchdown ball.
Congratulations to the person who paid $518,628 LAST NIGHT at the @Lelandsdotcom auction for Tom Brady's last touchdown ball. https://t.co/PIqbNhaWpV

With this news now out there, this fan could’ve spent that money on anything else. That ball that the fan bought was caught by Mike Evans in the NFC Divisional Round against the Los Angeles Rams. The Bucs erased a 27-3 deficit in that game to tie it at 27 before the Rams kicked a game-winning field goal as time expired.
Brady looks poised to have another great year after he threw for over 5,000 yards and 43 touchdowns in 2021. This move also means that the Bucs may be more aggressive in terms of bringing some of their free agents back. As for this fan who bought that ball, maybe he can somehow recoup that money and buy the next one when Brady announces his retirement again.
