During a training drill on Monday, the Chiefs experienced a minor injury scare when star QB, Patrick Mahomes left the field with what seemed to be an ankle injury, he went straight to the white tent for some medical treatment.

According to Jesse Newell of the Kansas City Star, Mahomes was involved in an 11-on-11 drill with the defensive line winning the battle in the trenches. Mahomes was still on his feet after the drill but limped to the white tent and was seen later with tape around his left ankle.

Although, Andy Reid played down the seriousness of the injury by stating, “He got stepped on. He’s OK,” after training was over, fans are still waiting for updates from Mahomes himself.

Patrick Mahomes was also seen doing some light jogging with his teammates in an attempt to test the severity of the injury.

Mahomes has finally given some update on the injury as he insists it was nothing serious and that he will never allow something like that to hinder his preparations for the beginning of a new season. ‘someone stepped on my foot during the scuffle, went to the tent to make sure it was nothing serious. Training will continue and we’ll make sure nothing slows us down.’
