LeBron James had a remarkable homecoming Monday night. Returning to Ohio, the superstar posted 38 points, 12 assists, and 11 rebounds in a 131-120 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. He also put his former teammate, Kevin Love, on the wrong end of a poster.
After the sensational display, Magic Johnson commemorated his fellow Lakers legend with a vintage Magic Johnson tweet. It’s beyond astounding that James is capable of such dominance 19 years after getting drafted by Cleveland.

LeBron James went home to Cleveland and reminded everyone why he is the King! He recorded a triple double 38-12-11 and led the Lakers to a 131-120 victory!

Despite the Lakers’ turmoil, the 37-year-old is competing for his first scoring title since 2007-2008. Following Monday night’s epic display, James is averaging 30.0 points per game, his same mark from 14 years ago.
Although the 31-41 Lakers are now merely fighting to preserve a spot in the Western Conference play-in tournament, Johnson is right that James still warrants his crown. He’s keeping them afloat with a superb 33.9 points per game this month, topping 35 in each of his last three matchups.
Johnson has developed a reputation for stating the obvious in matter-of-fact Twitter posts, but there are only so many superlatives left to describe James.
These types of displays aren’t rare either, as this is the 105th triple-double of James’ career. That puts him 33 behind Johnson for third on the NBA’s all-time leaderboard.
