Lewis Hamilton was left baffled after being asked about the Coronation ahead of the Miami Grand Prix.

The Mercedes star was asked whether he was invited to King Charles’ Coronation on this coming Monday due to his knighthood.

However, Hamilton was unable to provide any details as he revealed he doesn’t check his emails or his post.

The seven-time champion still has plans to follow the ceremony at Westminster Abbey with a stream in the Mercedes garage.

Kravitz asked: “That Sir Lewis Hamilton. If he’s a sir does that mean he gets an invitation to King Charles’ Coronation. Do you?”

Hamilton responded “I have no idea. I have no idea. I don’t see my mail. I’ve not seen my mail in years.” Kravitz added: “You probably did get an invitation, you know…”Hamilton then added: “Kind of neat if I did, if I didn’t it’s okay.

Amazing I’m going to hopefully have it live while I’m engineering.” The Briton was knighted by the then Prince of Wales in a ceremony at Windsor Castle back in December 2021.

But it was not the only time the seven-time champion has come face to face with the new Monarch. Hamilton has previously opened up on a meeting with him as a junior karting star back in 1997.

Photos even show Charles kneeling down next to Hamilton’s kart when the British F1 legend, a seven-time world champion, would have been just 12 years old.

He told Vanity Fair: “When I had signed into 1997 and then I went to McLaren, Prince Charles came to open up the factory. And that day I remember having my go-kart and I was sitting there, and Prince Charles knelt down next to me and spoke to me.

“I was like, ‘Hey, I’m Lewis Hamilton. One day, I want to be a Formula 1 champion. When I stood up [after being knighted in 2021], he’s like, ‘It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you. You’ve come a long way.’

“And I’m like, ‘Yes, honoured to see you, your Highness. Thank you so much for having me and my family, this gesture,’ just telling him how grateful I am for this moment.”
