Aaron Rodgers may be back in Green Bay, but it’s not exactly clear what the future holds for his favorite target Davante Adams. On Monday’s “Good Morning Football,” NFL insider Ian Rapoport shared that the All-Pro wideout has told the Packers he will not play on a franchise tag.
Per Rapoport, “Packers star WR Davante Adams has informed the team he won’t play on the franchise tag, and the sides remain far apart on a long-term deal …” Adding, “It’s all coming to a head. Something has to give.” The NFL world reacted to the developing story out of Wisconsin.

“If Adams decides to holdout and miss games, does it change something for Aaron Rodgers‘ decision to come back?” asked Dov Kleiman. “After spending all that money on Rodgers, he still won’t have no one to throw to LMAOOOOOO.”

“The Raiders can absolutely still get Davante Adams,” tweeted the Las Vegas Chronicle’s Sanjit T. “Franchise Tag isn’t the same as a signed contract.” “Not the most surprising thing in the world,” one user said. “Last August, Tae said regardless of Rodgers’ status, he wanted to be the highest paid WR. He’s definitely earned it.

Not the most surprising thing in the world.
Last August, Tae said regardless of Rodgers’ status, he wanted to be the highest paid WR.
He’s definitely earned it. Now it’s about trying to make it work for both sides.
They have until July to figure it out https://t.co/D3SgPnyqpb

It’s hard to imagine the Packers not finding a way to lock up Davante Adams for the foreseeable future. But, stranger things have happened.
