After over a month of rumors and speculation, Aaron Rodgers is staying put, according to multiple reports. On Tuesday morning, “The Pat McAfee Show” Twitter account said Rodgers will remain with the Green Bay Packers. The four-time league MVP has been making weekly appearances on McAfee’s show for some time now, so this is as close to an official announcement as possible.
“According to my sources. @AaronRodgers12 will officially be returning to the Green Bay Packers,” McAfee tweeted. “There is no deal in place currently but there is said to be a Cap Friendly deal on the way. Retirement was a real consideration and in the end HE IS BACK WITH THE PACK.”

McAfee says the deal is cap-friendly, and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport has the reported details. According to Rapoport, Rodgers is getting a mind-boggling $153 million guaranteed over the next four seasons–$200 million in total–but his cap number is going down, which will help the Packers. Now the highest-paid player in NFL history, Rodgers will continue to pursue Super Bowl ring No. 2 in Green Bay.
